Odds are the computer you purchase will be wide open for fraud, virii, worms and trojans.  Sadly, most companies that sell computers and systems ignore the security aspects.

Case in point, a business I visited recently had purchased several new computers and a wireless networking setup.  Not only was the wireless network unsecured, the windows machines they purchased still had remote desktop enabled among other things.

This was allowing anybody who wanted to access to business resources, as well as potentially all files on all of the computers at that location.  The person who 'installed' these systems left them with no passwords, didn't leave the password for the router configuration (so I had to flush it and setup from scratch) and even left the administrator password blank on several systems.

You might as well just leave the doors open on your business.

What can you do?  For starters ask around, make sure the company you are dealing with is security conscious.  Sadly, that could be very hard though.

You can always contact me .   I would be happy to oversee the installation and setup of your new computers, network, wireless or other computer systems for a reasonable price.
